The practical part
The essentials
Open the Sun & holidays tab, not the weekday one
Every board on this site has a Sundays-and-holidays tab where TIADHE prints such a table, and on the holiday dates it maps the board opens on that tab by itself. On any other holiday, or if a board shows a date it does not know, choose the tab yourself: a weekday departure that does not run on a Sunday is the commonest way to be stranded.

Lines with one table every day: read the key
Lines 2, 7, 8 and 111 print a single table, but not every trip on it runs every day: line 2 keys one trip Monday to Saturday, one Sundays and holidays only and one via Antigua; line 7 lists Corralejo variants for Monday to Friday and for weekends and holidays; line 5's trips marked Monday to Friday run only between Esquinzo and Morro Jable. The departure rows here carry the operator's note in your language, so read the note before the time.
The airport on a Sunday
Line 3 keeps running between Puerto del Rosario, the airport, Caleta de Fuste and Las Salinas on the Sunday table; lines 10 and 16 run far fewer trips, and from Morro Jable line 10's first departure on Sundays and holidays is much later than Monday to Saturday, so an early Sunday flight from Jandía is a taxi or a last night nearer the airport. The airport board prints the dated times for each tab.

Connections are thinner too
Corralejo and El Cotillo need a change in Puerto del Rosario, and on a Sunday both legs come from a thinner table, with no timed connection: TIADHE prints no arrival times and the lines are not timed to meet. Caleta de Fuste to Corralejo and back works on the Sun & holidays tabs, with one change each way, but with a wide margin and the next departure in mind. Line 6's first quay departure from Muelle de Corralejo is later at weekends and on holidays.

Which holidays the boards know
The Canary Government's 2026 calendar of working holidays is the source, and this site's timetables map the dates that fall inside the period they show, so the boards treat 12 October and 2 November 2026 as a Sunday. Local holidays of a single municipality are not mapped: TIADHE's sheets name none, and this site will not guess which table a village festival uses.

Ramps on Sundays
TIADHE's reduced-mobility sheet lists its ramp-equipped departures on lines 1, 3, 6, 8 and 10 with a column for Sundays and holidays. Other departures are requested by phone, 48 hours ahead for a weekend or holiday trip rather than the 24 hours of a Monday-to-Thursday one.

Where the day goes quiet
Betancuria's Archaeological Museum is closed on Sunday and Monday, Visit Fuerteventura says, and line 2 to the village prints one of its trips for Sundays and holidays only, so a Sunday in Betancuria is the village and the valley, not the museum. Cofete's line 111 runs every day, two departures each way over the dirt track, with the return printed only as an estimate. Beaches, dunes and harbours keep their hours; a Sunday is a good beach day if you read the tab first.

Asked and answered
Questions people ask
Do buses run on Sundays in Fuerteventura?
Yes, on every main corridor, from the Sundays-and-holidays table, which is thinner than the weekday one, with a later first bus and longer gaps. Lines 2, 7, 8 and 111 run one table every day with some trips keyed to certain days. Pick the Sun & holidays tab on any board here before you plan.

Do the buses run on a public holiday?
Yes, on the Sunday table. The boards on this site switch to it on the Canary holidays they map, 12 October and 2 November 2026 among them; on a holiday they do not know, open the Sun & holidays tab yourself.
Checked Gobierno de Canarias: Gobierno de Canarias: calendar of public holidays for 2026 (BOC no. 88, 2025) TIADHE: TIADHE timetable sheets, read 12 October 2026 (ledger)
Is there a Sunday bus from the airport?
Yes: line 3 runs on Sundays and holidays between Puerto del Rosario, the airport, Caleta de Fuste and Las Salinas, and lines 10 and 16 run their thinner Sunday tables. The airport board prints the dated departures for the Sun & holidays tab.
The other half of the plan
And the way back.
On a Sunday or a holiday choose the bus back from the Sun & holidays tab before you leave, take the departure before the one that looks right, and remember that a change in Puerto del Rosario is two thin tables, not one. If the sum does not work, a taxi from a rank is the honest answer.
