Island hopping from Fuerteventura by bus and ferry

Lanzarote from Corralejo, Lobos from its harbour, Gran Canaria from Morro Jable: which TIADHE bus reaches each port, who sails and what they say.

Your bus, at a glance

Three sea crossings start at a bus stop. From Corralejo harbour, Fred. Olsen Express, Baleària Canarias and Líneas Romero sail to Playa Blanca on Lanzarote, and the boats to Lobos leave from the same harbour with the Cabildo's landing permit booked ahead; TIADHE's general line 6 and 8 maps end at the quay stop Muelle Corralejo. From Morro Jable, Fred. Olsen Express and Baleària sail to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and line 5's map has the stop Muelle Jet Foil. Bus and boat are separate tickets with no guaranteed connection; the timetables on this site give you the bus half.

The practical part

The essentials

  1. Lanzarote for a day: Corralejo to Playa Blanca

Fred. Olsen Express states 25 minutes by fast ferry and Baleària 35 minutes for the Corralejo–Playa Blanca crossing; Líneas Romero publishes the route too. On the Lanzarote side, Intercity Lanzarote's line 60 runs to Arrecife and line 161 towards Puerto del Carmen and the airport. Book the sailing with the operator and plan Lanzarote's buses separately; this site has not tested a dated ferry-bus-ferry day, so it promises none.

  2. Lobos: a boat and a permit

Lobos is reached only by sea from Corralejo harbour, and landing needs the Cabildo's authorisation, booked at least five days ahead on LobosPass according to Visit Fuerteventura; the Cabildo's own page links the system. The circular trail of about seven kilometres runs from the jetty to the Martiño lighthouse and back by El Puertito; carry water, there are no services.

  3. Gran Canaria: Morro Jable to Las Palmas

Fred. Olsen Express runs fast catamarans between Morro Jable and Las Palmas and markets a same-day return; Baleària gives the crossing as roughly an hour and three quarters and lists a Sunday sailing from Puerto del Rosario as part of a longer rotation. Line 5's route map has the stop Muelle Jet Foil at Morro Jable's quay, and line 111 lists a Muelle stop; line 1 has quay variants keyed “Sale/Termina en el muelle de Morro Jable”.

  4. Getting to the quay by bus

At Corralejo, the general maps of lines 6 and 8 include Muelle Corralejo after the bus station, but the line 6 hotel variant and line 8's direct trip do not; line 6's sheet says services towards Puerto del Rosario leave the quay ten minutes before the printed time. At Morro Jable, use line 5's Muelle Jet Foil stop or walk from the town stops. Ferry check-in is separate: leave a margin.

Which base for which island

Corralejo for Lanzarote and Lobos; Morro Jable for Gran Canaria. From Caleta de Fuste or Puerto del Rosario, Corralejo is line 6 from the capital and Morro Jable is line 10 or line 1, so an island day from the east coast is a long one: compare the bus timetable's first departures with the sailing you want.

What this site does not promise

No dated ferry-and-bus connection has been tested end to end, Lobos's permit window has been read on Visit Fuerteventura as five days but the Cabildo's live system decides, and sailing times belong to the operators. Treat every crossing as its own booking.

Asked and answered

Questions people ask

How do I get from Fuerteventura to Lanzarote without a car?

Bus to Corralejo (line 6 from Puerto del Rosario; the general map ends at Muelle Corralejo), then a Fred. Olsen Express, Baleària or Líneas Romero ferry to Playa Blanca, where Intercity Lanzarote's buses continue. Tickets are separate.

The other half of the plan

And the way back.

Book the return sailing before you cross, and treat the bus after it as another independent journey: at Corralejo the last line 6 to the capital and at Morro Jable the last line 10 or line 1 are facts on the timetable tab, and the airport is a further change. A missed last bus after a late ferry is a taxi, so check both before you buy the boat ticket.
