Tuineje
Stones, sticks and two battles of 1740
In 1740 English privateers attacked Tuineje and were beaten twice by the island's militia and villagers, who the first time were caught unprepared and fought with stones and sticks. The Casa de Las Simonas tells the story, the victories are still celebrated every year, and lines 1 and 16 stop at Ayto. Tuineje in both directions.
