Puerto del Rosario
The hinge of every line
Seven lines start at the capital's bus station, 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 10 and 16, so a car-free trip passes through more than once, and the airport is a line 3 ride away. It is a working port town rather than a resort: use it for the waterfront, a supermarket run and lunch between legs.

Getting to Puerto del Rosario
From Corralejo, use line 6 and read the selected service’s local variation. From Fuerteventura Airport, Aena identifies line 3 for the capital corridor. If continuing south, consult the dedicated Puerto del Rosario-to-Morro Jable guide rather than assuming the same vehicle continues beyond the city.

Before you settle in
Keep the way home in mind.
For Corralejo, choose the precise line 6 return and check whether it carries a marked local variation. For the airport, confirm line 3 in the airport direction. For Morro Jable, verify the endpoint of the chosen line 1 variant. Keep transfer time separate from sightseeing time.

Get to know Puerto del Rosario.
Puerto del Rosario earns its place in an island itinerary in two ways: it is Fuerteventura’s capital and a useful public-transport interchange, and it offers a straightforward urban pause by the harbour. The centre suits travellers who want waterfront walking, shops and a meal without committing to another resort day, or who need a measured break between separate bus legs.
Why go
-
Every line starts here
TIADHE's maps start lines 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 10 and 16 at Puerto del Rosario bus station: it is the change for Corralejo, Betancuria and El Cotillo from the airport.
-
A working harbour and a capital's streets
Visit Fuerteventura describes a port mainly for commercial shipping and ferries, with a supermarket close to the harbour and a wide choice of hotels and services.
-
The cruise port
Cruise excursions on the island start from the port in Puerto del Rosario, Visit Fuerteventura's cruise routes say; the cruise-day page on this site plans a ship's day by bus.

What to do in Puerto del Rosario
- Walk Don’t miss
Harbour and waterfront
The harbour establishes Puerto del Rosario’s role as the island capital’s maritime front. Walk the nearby waterfront for open views and a sense of the city’s orientation, while treating any ferry or cruise movement as a separate operator journey with its own ticket and timetable.
- Sight Don’t miss
An everyday island capital
Central streets provide the practical side of a trip: places to eat, shop and handle errands between coastal stays. The appeal is urban and functional rather than a promise of a single headline attraction, which makes a short, flexible visit more rewarding than rushing through a checklist.
- Activity Don’t miss
A useful change point
Current TIADHE material makes the capital the key transfer in the airport-to-Corralejo journey and the starting point for the line 1 corridor toward Morro Jable. Plan each leg independently: an interchange is useful, but it does not turn separate departures into a guaranteed connection.
- Walk
The commercial port and its small marina
Visit Fuerteventura describes a port mainly for commercial shipping and ferries, with a sixty-berth marina opposite the main dock and repair workshops on the quay: a working waterfront to walk, not a beach resort front.

- Food & drink
Stock up by the harbour
A supermarket sits very close to the harbour, Visit Fuerteventura notes for sailors restocking their boats; it does the same for a bus traveller buying water and lunch before a long line 1 or line 2 leg inland or south.
- Activity
The stop on the outside of the station
Line 3's sheet names a stop set up on the outer side of the station building, "parada habilitada en el lateral exterior de la estación"; the other lines leave from the bays inside, and the boards on this site say which line leaves for where and when.

-
Use a layover deliberately
If you have a long gap between buses, keep your city walk close enough to return comfortably. Check the next departure before leaving the interchange area, then use the waterfront or centre as a flexible stop rather than risking an onward connection.
-
Keep ferries outside the bus plan
The harbour’s presence does not establish a timed bus-to-ferry connection. Check the ferry operator separately and leave a margin if the port is your actual destination.
-
Which bus leaves the station for where
TIADHE’s route maps start these lines at Puerto del Rosario bus station: 1 to Morro Jable, 2 to Betancuria and Vega de Río Palmas, 3 to the airport, Caleta de Fuste and Las Salinas, 6 to Corralejo, 7 to El Cotillo, 10 to the airport and Morro Jable, and 16 to the airport and Gran Tarajal.
