The practical part
The essentials
January to March: the coolest, and the most likely to rain
Highs of 20.8 to 22.3 degrees, lows around 15, and the year's rainiest stretch at still only two or three rain days a month, with sunshine rising from 195 hours in January to 239 in March. A jumper for the evening and the bus stop, as Visit Fuerteventura's packing advice says; the beaches are quiet and the inland villages at their greenest.
April to June: the wind arrives, the rain stops
Highs climb from 23.2 to 26.3 degrees and rain all but vanishes, under one day a month by May and none in June; sunshine passes 285 hours a month. This is when the trade winds pick up, Visit Fuerteventura says, so Sotavento and El Médano fill with sails and the sheltered bays, El Castillo and Costa Calma, are the swimming choice.
July to September: the hottest, the sunniest, the windiest
Highs of 27.5 to 27.9 degrees, lows above 21, no rain to speak of and the year's sunniest month in July at nearly 304 hours. The wind season continues through summer. Gran Tarajal's September brings the TRAN TRAN clown festival and a deep-sea fishing championship, the only September events an official page names.

October to December: warm sea, shorter days, the island's own festivals
Highs ease from 26.4 to 22.1 degrees and rain returns, up to 2.6 days in December; the sea stays warm after the summer. October re-enacts the battles of Tamasite and El Cuchillete around Tuineje and Gran Tarajal, a gathering of National Tourist Interest, and November brings Gran Tarajal's Arena Negra music festival, both by Visit Fuerteventura's account.

What the buses do, month by month
Nothing seasonal: TIADHE prints one set of day tables, weekday, Saturday and Sundays-and-holidays, and this site re-reads them at least every 45 days. What changes with the calendar is the tab: a public holiday uses the Sundays table, so Christmas, New Year, Easter and the island's own holidays run the Sunday service.

No official events calendar, honestly
Visit Fuerteventura's calendar page was not available when this site was read, so the events above are only those its place pages date: Gran Tarajal's September, October and November, the Tuineje battles in October and La Oliva's Friday Living History Route. Carnival, village fiestas and markets exist but are not dated here, because no official page read dates them.

Asked and answered
Questions people ask
What is the best month to visit Fuerteventura without a car?
For swimming in calm bays and quiet buses, October and November: highs of 24 to 26 degrees, a warm sea and the wind easing. For windsurfing and kitesurfing, April to August, when Visit Fuerteventura says the trade winds are strongest. The bus timetables are the same every month.

Does it rain in Fuerteventura?
Hardly: the airport's normals count 2.6 rain days in December as the wettest month and none at all in June and July. The board says the island hardly registers rainfall during the year.
Is Fuerteventura windy all year?
The trade winds are a fixture, mainly from the north, and Visit Fuerteventura calls them strongest in spring and summer; Costa Calma's beach is sheltered by its hotels and Mal Nombre by its cliffs, which is where to swim on a windy day.

The other half of the plan
And the way back.
Whatever the month, the return bus is on the tab for your day: on a public holiday that is the Sundays tab. Evenings cool off even in summer, so carry a layer for the stop.
