Caleta de Fuste
A calm bay on the airport line
Caleta de Fuste is the easiest car-free arrival on the island: line 3 from the terminal, and a beach in a small bay that stays calm all year. El Castillo takes its name from an eighteenth-century fort and was long the capital's own quiet beach; the Salt Museum is further down the same line.

Getting to Caleta de Fuste
Use the airport-to-Caleta-de-Fuste guide and Aena’s line 3 information. Aena describes line 3 as serving the Caleta de Fuste and Las Salinas corridor. Match your accommodation to the line 3 stops this guide names; the destination name alone does not establish the shortest walk.

Before you settle in
Keep the way home in mind.
For the airport return, confirm line 3’s current airport direction and boarding point before leaving your accommodation. Build the margin around your airline’s requirements, and carry suitable cash if paying the driver under TIADHE’s published change limits.

Get to know Caleta de Fuste.
Caleta de Fuste is designed for a simple coastal rhythm. Castillo beach sits in a sheltered bay, the marina adds boats and waterfront activity, and the surrounding resort supplies restaurants, shops and family-oriented facilities. Its position close to the airport makes it a convenient first or final base, while the bus guidance remains tied to the verified line 3 corridor rather than an assumed transfer time.
Why go
-
El Castillo beach
Soft golden sand in a small bay named after an eighteenth-century fort, with sunbed hire, a promenade with restaurants and calm water all year.
-
Three lines, north and south
Lines 3, 10 and 16 all stop here: 3 to the airport and capital, 10 to Costa Calma and Morro Jable, 16 to Gran Tarajal.
-
Salt pans next door
Line 3 continues past Caleta to Las Salinas, where the Salt Museum stands beside working salt pans; its Express trips stop short at Caleta.

Make a day of it
What to do in Caleta de Fuste
- Beach Don’t miss
Castillo beach
The broad, sheltered bay is the natural centre of a Caleta day. Its protected shape helps explain the resort’s family appeal, but conditions and beach services still need checking locally. Allow time simply to follow the curve of the sand rather than treating it as a photo stop.
- Sight Don’t miss
Marina and seafront
The marina changes the feel of the waterfront and gives a walk beyond the main beach a clear destination. Boat activities are separate products with their own meeting instructions; the public-bus arrival only gets you to the resort corridor, not to a specific vessel or departure.
- Sight Don’t miss
A practical family resort
Shops, restaurants, leisure facilities and nearby golf make Caleta useful for mixed groups who do not all want the same beach day. Keep golf or booked activities in their own plan, since their entrances and check-in requirements may sit beyond the most convenient bus arrival point.
- Beach Don’t miss
El Castillo beach
El Castillo is a quiet beach of soft golden sand in a small bay in Caleta de Fuste, named after an eighteenth-century fort nearby. Visit Fuerteventura lists sunbed and parasol hire, parking, bus and taxi stops and a promenade with restaurants, and advises bathing with caution. Lines 3, 10 and 16 all have a Caleta de Fuste stop on their route maps in both directions.

- Beach
Follow the curve of the bay
The small bay keeps the water calm all year, which is why the tourism board lists El Castillo as very safe. It still advises bathing with caution.
- Culture
The Salt Museum
An indoor exhibition and the original salt pans, still worked, with a café and a shop selling the museum's salt, at the end of line 3.
- Activity
Diving from the marina, golf behind the resort
Scuba-diving trips leave from the marina, golf courses sit behind the resort, and Antigua's village shops are a short way inland. The airport is just seven kilometres away, which is why line 3 is so short a ride.

-
Morning
Line 3 from the airport, or any of three lines
Get off at the Caleta de Fuste stop on line 3, 10 or 16; the destination name alone does not tell you the shortest walk, so match the stop to your hotel.
-
Middle of the day
Beach, then the promenade
The bay and its promenade of restaurants make the middle of the day; sunbeds and parasols are for hire.
-
Afternoon
Salt pans on a non-Express line 3
Ride on to Las Salinas for the museum and back on the same line; for the airport, confirm the line 3 direction and your airline's margin.

-
Choose the right side of the bay
Locate your accommodation, beach area or marina on a map before selecting a stop. Caleta and Las Salinas are both named on the line 3 corridor, but that does not make every stop equally useful for every booking.
-
Keep activity check-ins separate
For golf, marina excursions or another booked activity, follow the provider’s exact meeting instructions and arrive early. Do not substitute a generic resort bus stop for a named check-in location.
-
Three lines, north and south
Besides line 3, TIADHE’s route maps show line 10 towards Morro Jable and line 16 towards Gran Tarajal stopping at Caleta de Fuste. For Corralejo, take line 3 to Puerto del Rosario and change to line 6. Lines 3 and 10 have marked ramp-equipped departures on TIADHE’s reduced-mobility timetable.
