Morro Jable
Four kilometres of beach, and the Cofete bus
Playa del Matorral runs four kilometres from Morro Jable, reached on footbridges over a fenced, protected salt marsh, with an avenue of shops and restaurants behind it and a town that still feels like a fishing village. Line 10 comes from the airport and line 1 from the capital, ferries sail to Gran Canaria, and line 111, the only bus to Cofete, leaves from here.

Getting to Morro Jable
From Puerto del Rosario, follow the line 1 guide and verify the selected variant. From Costa Calma, use line 5; its trips marked Monday to Friday run only between Esquinzo and Morro Jable. Airport line 10 is described by Aena for the Morro Jable corridor.

Before you settle in
Keep the way home in mind.
Confirm the exact line 1 endpoint or line 5 direction before leaving the beach. For an airport return, check that your line 10 trip runs on your travel day. Ferry passengers should leave an independent margin for port check-in.

Get to know Morro Jable.
Morro Jable gives the south of Fuerteventura a strong focal point. Broad beaches and a long promenade sit beside a centre that retains the feel of its fishing-village origins, while the harbour supports separate maritime journeys. It also anchors verified bus guides from Puerto del Rosario, Costa Calma, the airport, and onward to remote Cofete.
Why go
-
Playa del Matorral
Four kilometres of sand between an avenue of shops and restaurants and the Saladar de Jandía, a salt marsh protected for plants that are scarce in the Canaries; footbridges carry you across it to the beach.
-
The only bus to Cofete
Line 111 runs every day from Morro Jable over the unpaved track to Cofete and Punta de Jandía; seats cannot be reserved.
-
Gran Canaria from the quay
Fred. Olsen Express and Baleària sail to Las Palmas; line 5's map has the stop Muelle Jet Foil.

Make a day of it
What to do in Morro Jable
- Beach Don’t miss
Wide southern beaches
The broad sand around Morro Jable and Playa del Matorral supports a proper beach day as well as a long coastal walk. Use flags and local safety information for the water, and give the open shoreline enough time rather than trying to combine every southern excursion in one visit.
- Walk Don’t miss
Old centre and promenade
The fishing-village character of the older centre offers a smaller-scale contrast to the resort frontage. Link it with the promenade for an easy self-guided route, leaving flexibility for a meal and the walk back to your boarding stop, which TIADHE's line pages name.
- Activity Don’t miss
Harbour and separate island crossings
The harbour connects Morro Jable’s local identity with boats toward Gran Canaria and marine excursions. Those sailings are separate transactions: check the ferry or activity operator for its timetable, ticket and meeting point, and never assume a public bus is timed to connect.
- Walk
Learn to surf, or just float
The water here suits a first surf lesson, or just floating on the board, and the beaches are big enough to walk away from the sunbeds until all you hear is the waves.

- Beach
Esquinzo and Mal Nombre up the coast
Lines 1 and 5 stop at Esquinzo and Tierra Dorada within a short ride.
- Activity
Gran Canaria in two hours from the quay
The boat to Gran Canaria takes about two hours: Fred. Olsen Express and Baleària sail to Las Palmas, and line 5's map has the stop Muelle Jet Foil at the quay. Whale and dolphin boats leave from the same harbour as separate bookings.

Is there a bus from Fuerteventura Airport to Morro Jable?

-
Keep Cofete as a complete side trip
Line 111 and guided Cofete products are different options. If using public transport, confirm the entire return before leaving Morro Jable and follow current condition guidance for the remote coast. A tour transfer is not line 111.
-
Allow for distinct waterfront areas
The beach, old centre and harbour are separate parts of the visit. Check walking distances and any booked meeting point on a current map rather than treating “Morro Jable” as a single exact stop.
-
A bus to the quay
If you are catching a boat, TIADHE’s line 5 map has a harbour stop named “Muelle Jet Foil”, and line 111 lists a “Muelle” stop after the stop named Estación. Ferry check-in is separate, so leave a margin after the bus.
